Hi Friends,

I have up-cycled an old I-cod tablet box to create this gift box. Here is a look at how it looks from the top and the sides :

This is the box that I have upcycled :

To make the base of my box I have first taken some water-color paper and added texture to it by stenciling it with texture paste and the damask Prima stencil.I have added a dash of Lindy's sprays to my texture paste to give a hint of color to it.Then, I have distressed it completely using Spun Sugar and a bit of Fired Brick distress inks. Also, I have distressed the edges of the paper using my scissors and this forms the base of the box on the top and on the sides.I have then embellished it using MDF embellishments and my ever favorite flowers using Spellbinder dies and colored it using Distress Stains.A little bit of pearls here and there and some delicate foliage completes my project! :)
I have also decorated the insides of the box with some Martha Stewart punched laces and a base white paper.
Finally, added some yummy chocolates to it and my gift is ready to be shared :)

Hi friends,
So I am back again with another shabby-chic creation. I know I know, getting a bit monotonous :)
But I love playing with soft shades and dies and as the focus is on pattern paper in the Crafter's Corner blog for the whole of this month this is what I have shared there. Have a look :

For this card, I have done distressing using scissors on my pattern paper and also done faux stitching on all four sides. I have used various dies to create my card and I am listing the supplies below. The blue flower which is the centre focus of the card is handmade along with the rose buds. Some chocolate-y thanks !

Hi friends,
This post was long over-due as have been meaning to share this for quite some time. I had made these sweet and simple chocolate gift covers with gift tags for my son's teachers this Teacher's day. I have done simple embellishing using papers on the chocolate bars. I have stamped the background for the papers and also used the Prima Damask stencil to create the background for one of the bars. Here's a quick look at them :

Here's a close-up of the flower I have done on the first bar. This was my first try using the Spellbinder's Rose Creations die and I was pretty happy with the results :)
These were pretty fast to make and since I had to make them in bulk I did'nt do too much of embellishing as is my style :D
I am sharing these for the current challenge at Beyond grey challenges which is ' Gifting Love '
ETA : These chocolate gift covers got a Honourable Mention at the Beyond Grey Challenges!

Supplies used :
Base paper- Brustro water-color paper.
Dies :

For someone special !

Hi friends,
Wanted to share a quick card with you all today which I have made keeping in mind a couple of challenges :)...Firstly, I was inspired to play along mainly because of Lisa's challenge at Yvonne's blog where she has asked us to make a shaped card using Spellbinder's decorative labels..I have used the Resplendent Rectangles die to create my card..The design of my card is based on a card I had seen on Pinterest recently..Sorry don't have a link for it...Here's a look at my card first :
And here's the front view also :
As you can see, it's a pretty straight forward card where I have cut the dies from the Resplendent Rectangles set and overlapped them one on top of the other to create the ornate base of my card..And the pink flower that you see is made from the Rose Creations die also by Spellbinder's which I have colored using Distress ink -Spun Sugar..I dunno about you, but I am pretty happy about the outcome of the flower :D
Sorry I am keeping this short and simple, though if you have any queries regarding the card I will be happy to answer..So do drop me a line :)

Tip : Do you see the 2 ribbon strips on the bottom...Those are created by coloring cardstock's  with Festive Berries Distress ink and cutting them in thin strips and then I have done Faux Stitching over them to give a Grosgrain kind of look...This idea was inspired by Tejal's card which she had shared over Swap Central India..Thank you so much Tejal  :)

I have to tell you all though this is my very first attempt doing a full fledge mixed media work and  I am not sure about the right's and wrongs  in it ..But I did have a lot of fun getting all inking and playing with the mist and various texture's... I have gone with the clustered look and tried to use different mediums to create my overall look !! ..So here's a look at my work :-
Another view :-
And a closer look at my handmade flower which shines with the shimmer from the Lindy's Mists :-

I really had a lot of fun creating the background for this wall-hanging...First I  cut out two circles using the lid of a biscuit tin as my template and then I have colored the entire surface with white acrylic paint and then used texture white paste to make the base....Then,using the Mini Hexagons template from The Crafter's Workshop I have tried to create some textured background with Gesso ,then used the Lindy Mists 'Hottie Patottie' to color my background....Used some fabric lace from my stash and various small embellies like Buttons,Charms,Can opener tab,Soda bottle cover to create the entire look of my project and then again coated all of these with the texture white(Gesso)...Also,I have done some stamping using Staz on Black ink and used some die-cut flowers, butterflies and frames to complete the overall look.

And here's a close up of the flowers which I have colored  using the Lindy stamp gang spray ..These sprays have vibrant colors and a very nice shimmer to it ..I have really enjoyed working with it a lot :

A little bit about how I have made this tag ..Firstly I distressed the entire tag with the vintage photo distress ink then I have sprayed the Lindy Hottie Patottie spray on the background...  Then I used The Crafter's workshop stencil to create the hexagon background  with  my vintage photo distress inks then I did the stamping of the dress form and the leaf flourish finally finishing off with a punched lace and the floral arrangement .

Sky's the Limit !!

Hi Friends ,
Today I have a quick share of a card I have made for the BGC challenge "Sky's the Limit " and here's my take on it :
\
And a side view of my card :
As you can I have kept it very simple and done a lot of stamping and distressing to create my background ..Its been quite some time since I have done a stamping only card ..Well I think I really need loads of practice for this and the faux sticthing  that  I have done is too sloppy :( ..I was in a hurry to get this card finished as this challenge is getting over in a few hours !..But I hate sloppy work and I almost didn't post this card but  as I have been meaning to play along this challenge for quite some time now I went ahead and blogged about this card .
So be kind people :)

Supplies
Base CS : Campap.
Stamp's :
Hot off the press cycle stamp, the grass is stamped using a stamp I bought from Saumya ..don't know the brand though ...I have colored it using Crayola markers :)

Memento Pear Tart.

Round FOUR Bingo at Crafter's Corner !

Hi everyone,
Today is the day four for our crafty bingo which we are playing in the honour of our first birthday celebrations of  the Crafter's Corner shop...You must have come here from our lovely DT member Pallavi's blog...If not you need to check it out! especially her gorgeous work and not to forget the day THREE bingo words which she has shared on her blog :)
So those of you who have signed up for this bingo are eagerly waiting for this post I know!...So without further ado here are my FOUR words from the bingo grid!

My FIRST word is ...*Any guesses people* ???
Those have  been following my blog know that I am in LOVE with this product.....And I have been using it for all my recent projects!...And it is DISTRESS STAINS  of course !
These are very vibrant colors which come in a  small bottle with a dauber on the top for easy application...These can be used on all kinds of paper projects and believe me these definitely add that 'Wow' factor to your work...And the BEST part is the entire range of Distress stains is available at Crafter's Corner..

Okay now moving on to the SECOND word which is CUTTING DIES...Now who does'nt know about dies ...I guess every new crafter now-a-days is aware about the dies and the different companies which make them...Crafter's Corner has quite a large variety of cutting dies from all the leading manufacturing companies like Cheery Lynn,Spellbinders,Memory Box,Marianne to name a few!....You really need to check them all out at Crafter's Corner!

And the THIRD word is PUNCH BUNCH PUNCHES...These punches are very good quality and they come in variety of designs and sizes...And it's a must buy for all those interested in punch-craft and who love to make their own flowers and floral arrangement!...These punches are quite reasonably priced and Crafter's Corner has quite a large collection of these punches available with them.

And now on to my LAST and FINAL word and it is CROP-A-DILE...This item was one of my first BIG crafty buy and I have never regretted it...It's a very useful tool for setting eyelets and punching holes through tough materials like chipboard and even very thin metals, plastic, acrylic, wood and much more...This product  silently and smoothly sets 1/8in and 3/16in snaps and eyelets and once you get the knack for it and check out the various tutorials available online you will be able to find multiple uses for it.

That's it from me...Hope these items are crossed from your list if not don't worry you have another chance when our DT member Sindhu calls out her set of words next :)
So tomorrow please head over to the very talented Sindhu's blog to check out the day FIVE set of words of the bingo and Best of luck everyone !

Have a nice day everyone!

A Vintage-y happy birthday :)

Hi everyone,
I have another card to share with you all....And this time it's based on a sketch from Mojo Monday!...This card came together with a lot of difficulty...Somehow,things were just not working out and it took a better part of a day to complete this!...But I am quite happy with the end result...So here's a look at what I have created :
And here's a closer look at the butterfly and the flowers :

I have heat embossed the butterfly with ZING! embossing powder in black and in real life it has a very nice glitter on it which I have not been able to capture in the photos but it really looks very beautiful!..The flowers are all punched using different sizes of daisy punch from Jef....and I have generously used distress stains to color them and the butterfly.....The dark brown background and the frame have both been distressed with Memento rich cocoa dye ink...It's such a vibrant shade of brown...I think I like it even more than Vintage photo distress ink !

Base CS-Campap
